working away
Kinda tired right now so I thought I would take a break and blab a little :) ..

Things have been going all right.. of course I have a bunch of things on my plate. For the past few months I am still working on the same projects. It's looking good, and it looks like things are finally going to start happening this coming month. As usual, things in Nigeria take a long time.

The two projects I got going on here are getting started in the coming week which is really exciting. One is with a low cost website solution, while the other is a spam protection service. Both of them sort of go hand in hand, but they are with two different partners. It seems like one little thing or another has held up both of them getting started, but all those little bugs are getting worked out this weekend :) HURRAY!

I got some exciting news the other day. One of my friends in Nigeria is coming to Canada to visit me! :) .. looking forward to seeing him again. He shared with me a new idea he came up with the other day to help cell phone owners in Nigeria. It's a fantastic idea... and I made some suggestions that actually triple the profits and create an ongoing revenue stream and subscriber base from the whole thing. Will start production of the new product next year.

Past week I have been going to the gym every second day... doing cardio and then tanning.. cause I am a fat ghost white boy! All this time I have been spending working away on the new site for the spam protection has turned my butt into the AssMaster 2000. :) ... I made a promise to someone that I would keep going to the gym until she got back from her vacation. So far I have kept it up :) .. only have to keep it up for another two weeks to make it a habit :).

I really have to take better care of myself after I finish off this project. Hardly sleeping and hardly moving really is taking its toll on my body... but hey.. the body is like a rubber band.. it can bounce back.. and can stretch to whatever form we choose.

Well.. I better get back to what I was working on :) .. plan is to finish today... so the next time I make an entry.. probably will be able how things are moving along :)

Tough times never last.. tough people do ;)

I thought you might like to know that your journal is being used to spam other people's journals with drug adverts: http://flamewarrior.livejournal.com/55824.html

If I don't hear from you, I'll contact LJ abuse - but I thought, if it wasn't you that did it, you'd like to know it was happening so you could contact LJ abuse yourself.

Actually I just got an email 2 minutes before you that there had been some kind of report about this. I have no idea who is doing it... I haven't touched my account in years.. I reset my password just now.. but if someone has some kind of app that allows you to look like someone else than there is a bigger problem.

Sorry some antisocial jerk did this to your journal.

no worries. I hope the password change does the job.

I think who ever did this was trying to give me some heat.. I guess they think you are as stupid as they are.. because everyone can see I didn't do this... what did happen is I suddenly have met several new people that are pretty cool who came and visited my site and liked to chat :)

See ... something good came out of this ;)

Hopefully Livejournal can can clean up that kaka.

Have a GREAT Day!

i've gotten spammed three times i know of at this point, one of them being from your journal, and they're all coming from an IP address in amsterdam, so it's nothing personal to you, you probably just happen to have a weak password

scratch that, the IP is coming from moscow (through a dutch-administered IP block)

**not that it's totally important

Hey mommadona

Thats some good info.. perhaps you can pass on what you found to abuse@livejournal.com so they can perhaps block their IPs from their site.. or use the info to track down all their posts and delete them.

Hopefully your right about the password... I changed it, so if it continues then they did some kind of spoofing of livejournal accounts perhaps.

Hope your well

Jonathan

I met a guy online a few months ago claiming to have work in Nigeria on a project. He is asking me to help pay some taxes. Because the government in Nigeria won't release funds to him unless he pays the taxes on the money. Is there such a law there? Don't mean to sound so shallow but is he trying to scam me?

Yes, he is trying to scam you. This is one of several classics. If the government had any involvement with his money at all, as in the project was a government project, they would have taken whatever taxes they wanted from it before releasing it. In Nigeria you always get your money before anything is done.

This guy is trying to scam you... what I like to do with guys like this is play them along... keep asking questions... try and get them to do things for you so they think you took the bait and they just need to jump some hoops to get your money. I like to ask for stuff like copies of information, or ask for more of their personal information... at some point they start to lose interest and really start pressing you to send 'a deposit' ..a smaller amount to 'start the process'.

At that point, I sometimes will pretend to be part of a 419 (thats the number of the law that is being broken in Nigeria.. basically applies to scammers and fraud) sting operation that has used all the info he gave me to track down where they are located.. and now the whole operation where they are is going to be arrested tomorrow... I will even say there is no point running since there are spies who are in their operation that have collected everyones information as well to ensure everyone is caught. They get quiet pretty fast after that... and I have a good laugh :)

Hope this helps

Jonathan
